Dear Neighbors:
We just found this article in the Salt Lake Tribune, Friday, November 2, 2007. Looks like Peterson is promising more “dedicated….. senior housing” but in West Jordan this time. These guys are really something else.
I really appreciate everyone’s comments about Wal-mart. I don’t think one good thing has been said about them. I just don’t know what to do about it at this time. If we decide to fight it it will take lots and lots of work - are we ready? I called the City and asked when the next Council meeting is and they told me November 20th. It might be a good meeting to attend. Read the rest of this entry »

Next Tuesday, Utah voters go to the polls to decide if their state will become the first in the nation to offer school vouchers statewide. Referendum 1 would make all public-school kids eligible for vouchers worth from $500 to $3,000 a year, depending on family income. Parents could then use the vouchers to send their children to private schools.
What a great idea. Finally, parents will have choices that wealthy parents have always had. The resulting competition would create better private schools and even improve the government schools. Read the rest of this entry »

Hi neighbors,
One of our neighbors on the west side of our sub-division just informed me that a Super WalMart is going to be built on th north side of Costco (North side of 104th South). There will be a City Council meeting about this on October 23rd (Tuesday) at 6:30 at City Hall. If you are concerned about this or other buildings going up to the west of us you need to let the city know. Our neighbor also said that there will be a self storage building next to Costco and then more stores, office buildings, an apartment complex etc. The city has big plans for businesses all the way down the street to the District.
If you have heard more about these plans please let us know so we can pass information on to our neighbors. If you are concerned - talk to the city council or go to their meeting.
