Vehicle Vandals In Jones Meadows

February 23rd, 2008

We also had an incident. After that last BIG snow storm we decided we needed to dig our car out from in front of our house. The plows had completely snow blocked it from both directions. After a friendly neighbor helped us get it out we had it parked in the driveway to wipe off the excess snow before pulling into the garage. As I was getting into the drivers side door I noticed the rear passenger window behind the driver (the one that WAS facing the street) was completely shattered (still intact). Inspecting it more I discovered the damage had occurred from 4 small bullet holes. We called out an officer and filed a report knowing they couldn’t do anything we just wanted this neighborhood to have it documented. Our car had been out there ‘Snowed In’ for about a week, so we have no idea when it occurred. Our car had nothing in it, so we don’t feel this was someone trying to break into it. Please keep all eyes open and KNOW where your kids are! (our incident looked more like mischievousness).

ps yep this is the same car that had the ‘egging’ incident this last summer

Thieves Scoping Cars & Garages In Jones Meadows

February 22nd, 2008

An incident happened in our neighborhood last night that all should be aware of.

My wife and I returned from vacation. I left the garage door open while I walked across the street to a neighbors to retrieve our mail that they collected for us while away. I was inside their home for less than three minutes. As I stepped outside and began to cross their yard I spotted someone in my garage looking in the car and out. I first thought it was my wife coming back out to get something she left in the car. As I got closer, I realized it was not my wife because it was a man with crew cut hair. Dooners Restaurant Review

February 20th, 2008

Dooners Logo
We cruised over to Dooners, the new restaurant on 12600 down the road from Bangerter. They are a new food location and we hoped to find a new place to eat. Despite being disorganized and not being able to serve everything on their menu, the place seemed clean and fresh. The food, however, was a whole different experience. Read the rest of this entry »

Pest Control Problems

January 17th, 2008

Hello Neighbors,

Shortly after we moved into our home we contracted with Mountain West Pest Control. They were canvassing our neighborhood and said several of our neighbors had signed up and offered us a good deal since they would be working in our neighborhood. We stayed with them for five years and thought they did a good job - we were very happy with their service and communication. Read the rest of this entry »

South Jordan Pizza Review Update

December 16th, 2007

Hey, South Jordan pizza fans: We love pizza and seek great pizza restaurants. We’ve been trying them slowly and were losing faith that Utah could provide a decent pizza. Granted Utah is not the food hub of the US, nor a spicy grove of culinary treats. In fact, the better food in Utah seems to arrive via newcomer and foreign origination. Here’s where we are with our search for pizza so far… Read the rest of this entry »

Ruby Tuesday Burgers Beat Madelines By A Landslide

December 16th, 2007

Ruby Tuesday Banner
You know, it’s tough to find decent food in Utah, let alone in South Jordan. When Madelines first moved in, we were happy to see the previous Mexican food restaurant disappear. It wasn’t very good. Madelines appeared to be a great replacement… we were wrong. Read the rest of this entry »

Thought Competition And Academia

December 2nd, 2007

“The self-esteem movement’s latest dumb idea is to ban writing and math contests in our schools.”

An interesting article about how “academia” often support athletes in competition, but not the literate or intelligentsia, as it might create discomfort. But when they leave home and school to find work, what else will there be aside individual competition to excel and be winners?

Jury Duty Scam

November 19th, 2007

This has been verified by the FBI (their link is also included below).
Please pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It is
spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take
those summonses for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on
their civic duty, that a new and ominous kind of fraud has surfaced. Read the rest of this entry »
