Los Three Amigos Restaurant

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

We have been to The Three Amigos Mexican food restaurant few times now, and have to say it’s been great each time. The environment is clean, spacious, and somewhat thematic. The servers are friendly and efficient, the food is tasty and ample, and it’s kid-friendly overall. (more…)

We cruised over to Dooners, the new restaurant on 12600 down the road from Bangerter. They are a new food location and we hoped to find a new place to eat. Despite being disorganized and not being able to serve everything on their menu, the place seemed clean and fresh. The food, however, was a whole different experience. (more…)

South Jordan Pizza Review Update

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Hey, South Jordan pizza fans: We love pizza and seek great pizza restaurants. We’ve been trying them slowly and were losing faith that Utah could provide a decent pizza. Granted Utah is not the food hub of the US, nor a spicy grove of culinary treats. In fact, the better food in Utah seems to arrive via newcomer and foreign origination. It’s been tough to find decent Pizza in the Salt Lake Valley! When notoriously low quality pizza places like Dominos compares well with “quality” pizza restaurants, you know you’re in trouble. We’ve tried a number of pizza places in the valley and we’re still exploring.

Pier 49 Pizza has so far demonstrated the best quality crust and toppings. Still a little bland, their pizza compares very well. If they used a spicier pepperoni or even a higher quality cheese, their pizza might even be worth ranking as great. Pier 49 Pizza does not compete well with California or New York gourmet pizza, but for the local venue, it does very well

Pier 49 has a large (”Jumbo” 16″) single topping pizza for roughly $15, but add another topping and a single drink and you’re over $20 at checkout. They have a great selection of food options and do a good job overall. The dining areas are semi-kid friendly, but they lack the simple things like crackers and paper napkins, and it would be great if they cleaned the high chairs once in awhile.

The Jordan Landing location has a great outdoor area with covered seating and a reasonable view of the mountains. The main website it http://www.pier49.com/ (more…)
