This has been verified by the FBI (their link is also included below).
Please pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It is

Domain Notification Central Spam Emails

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Please be advised that “Domain Notification Central” is sending spam emails to registrants of domain names, which should be ignored and thrown away. The scam attempts to sell you a variant of your current domain(s) under the guise of preventing some elusive legal action against your domain name. This company is currently being sued by legitimate registrars, but they continue to solicit payments through deceptive emails. Below is a sample email for review.

This company’s website contains a link to Check Your Domain. DO NOT USE THIS LINK! This is a second layer scam to collect additional domain names for likely vulnerable owners, as evidenced to them once you use it. If you have any questions about your domainĀ  name status, possible “infractions,” or the chance of unwanted transfers… contact your current registrar and ask them yourself.

plus.de Scam

Monday, July 9th, 2007

The is an email scam to validate your email address. The link “this patch” contains a hyperlink to an IP Address (not an actual company domain) and there is a query string attached to it (below). The query string has an encrypted section of garbled looking text. That’s your email address in an encrypted format. If you click the link, the server you land on decrypts the string to get your email address, and tags a database to say you are a sucker and to send you a LOT more spam.
