Pest Control Problems
Hello Neighbors,
Shortly after we moved into our home we contracted with Mountain West Pest Control. They were canvassing our neighborhood and said several of our neighbors had signed up and offered us a good deal since they would be working in our neighborhood. We stayed with them for five years and thought they did a good job - we were very happy with their service and communication. Several months ago we received a letter from Terminex stating they had bought our contract from Mountain West and would be providing our pest control. Approximately two months after receiving the letter they called and left a message stating they would be out to service our house the next day. The next day was not good for us so I called and canceled the service. They came out anyway and apparently sprayed out front yard - nobody was home - and left an invoice on our front door. I phoned to let them know what had happened and set up another appointment. On the day of our appointment they did not show up.
I phoned them again (their phone number rings to customer service people all over the country, not just in Utah) and told them to cancel our service. I wrote a letter and explained what had happened and advised them I would not pay their invoice. I just received my third invoice and had to call them again and ask them to close my account. Our experience with Terminex was terrible.
We recently started service with a new company, Signature Pest Control. The company is owned and operated by Travis (sorry I don’t have his last name) (801) 347-5272. Travis was very professional and personable over the phone and just as pleasant in person. He has only serviced our home one time but I was very impressed. He phoned me the day before our appointment to confirm and showed up within the scheduled time-frame. He explained what he was doing as we walked through the house and also provided written recommendations for making improvements.
