Ruby Tuesday Burgers Beat Madelines By A Landslide

You know, it’s tough to find decent food in Utah, let alone in South Jordan. When Madelines first moved in, we were happy to see the previous Mexican food restaurant disappear. It wasn’t very good. Madelines appeared to be a great replacement… we were wrong.

Madelines in South Jordan started out with prices far higher than the quality of their food or service. They instated some great specials like all-you-can-eat deals and 9.99 special dinners. After trying their 9.99 specials, we decided Madelines was a great place to eat. Good job, Madelines, for finding a way to get customers back.
We are burger fans and recently returned to Madelines, but forgot to call about specials. We discovered their menu overpriced yet again and their specials didn’t fit the pallet. We tried their burgers and had a terrible evening. Not only were the burgers poorly prepared and the fries soggy, it all smelled strongly of fish. Yuck! Talk about putting you off of a meal. Aside the awful flavor and terribly smell, it was not assembled very well. What’s worse, my own burger had a huge lump of fat, like the kind you find on the side of a steak. Perhaps a good comment on where the meat came from, but not on how they are handling it.

A few words to the staff and they replaced the food with similarly poorly prepared plates. No compensation for the inconvenience or irritation, just a different plate. The waiter was obviously a bit annoyed, despite being extremely nice about it. The manager cruised by to ask everyone if they were happy, but why waste time giving feedback when the staff doesn’t care anyway?

So, a desire to revisit burgers for a meal, we went to Ruby Tuesday in West Jordan and they were great! Not only were the prices MUCH better, the service was superior, the burger was amazing, and the fries were perfect. Chilis is off our list, since they are SLOW, the burgers mediocre, and fries also mediocre and they overwork the staff. Gosh, we wish Chevys would return!

We’re not saying Madelines is poor overall, just that their burgers, prices, and service is not so great. South Jordan continues to lack in the good food department, but perhaps with all the new development going on at least a few good places will surface. You need to drive a few hundred miles to find great food around here.

If you want a great burger, we recommend you hit Ruby Tuesday.
