School boundary changes
Thursday, September 27th, 2007Monte Vista Elementary is currently participating in discussions to change its boundaries for the 2008 school year. The decision will be made by 12/4/07. A panel of 4 people from the community has been assembled to determine what changes are in the best interest of Monte Vista. Jones Meadows seems to be at the center of the discussions for change. Among the options being debated is removing Jones Meadows from Monte Vista boundaries and sending those school children to Elk Meadows Elementary. We have a representative from our neighborhood on the committee; however, his voice is one against 15 others who may not have our best interests in mind. We are interested in finding out how much support there is for various options to make sure we all have a voice in what happens to our neighborhood elementary school boundaries. If this is a topic you would like more information about or have an opinion to share, please comment. The next meeting being held pertaining to this issue is next Tuesday (10/2), so please respond promptly.
